Reward Programmes

Throughout each week the children can earn a variety of awards. These include the following:

Golden Jumper

Each week one child from each class is chosen by the class teacher to receive a certificate and a ‘golden jumper’. This is awarded for a variety of reasons including effort, achievement, progress, homework or other contributions to their class or whole school. They receive their award in ‘Praise Assembly’ and their parents are invited to the assembly to see them accept their certificate and golden jumper. They get to wear their golden jumper for the week.

Star Reader

If the children read every evening with a parent, then they are entered into a weekly raffle and have the chance of winning a new book. There is a selection of fiction and non-fiction books for the children to choose from. The raffle is split across the school with a ticket being drawn for Foundation Stage and KS1, Lower KS2 (Years 3 and 4) and Upper KS2 (Years 5 and 6). This initiative has had a positive impact and has increased the number of children who read daily at home.

Golden Table

A member of the Senior Leadership Team is on duty every lunch time in the dining hall. They award golden stars to those children who demonstrate good manners; eat all of their dinner quietly and use a knife and fork correctly. Anyone who received a golden star during the week gets to sit on the ‘Golden Table’ on a Friday lunch time. They are allowed to invite a friend to join them.
